Tuesday, 05 July 2011 19:25

The Secretariat of the Cabinet Ministers of Ukraine with support of the Parliamentary Development Project for Ukraine launched a bulletin for civic councils. The first issue was presented to representatives of civic councils in Kiev, in the Club of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, July 5.

It is expected that the bulletin will be a quarterly issue. It will contain information for civic councils, such as documents on public participation in decision-making process, publication of councils’ experience, and more. The bulletin will also have a section on foreign practice of advisory and consultative bodies. Thus, the first issue contains information about the experience of the United States in this area. Also, the first issue of the bulletin invites readers to review a resume of a study on formation of civic councils, attached to the regional executive bodies. The research was conducted by the All-Ukrainian charitable organization "Ukrainian Centre of Political Management" (See below to download the full version of the Study (available only in Ukrainian).

The representatives of civic councils will be able to become active authors, writing to the bulletins’ column "My opinion" and sharing their thoughts on improving interaction with executive structures etc.

The electronic version (is available only in Ukrainian) of the bulletin can be found on the PDP II web-site: Download the PDF-file application-pdf
