| Electoral chief says presidential runoff valid |

The Ukrainian presidential election runoff is valid and the results will be announced in line with the law, the head of the Central Electoral Commission, Volodymyr Shapoval, said at a press conference in Kyiv today. "The runoff is valid," he said.
According to Shapoval, the CEC is currently calculating poll results. "It is important that we wait for the official vote-count reports, on the basis of which we should adopt the relevant decision," he said. He expressed confidence that the official runoff results would be established before the deadline stipulated by the law, which is 10 days. Shapoval added that the CEC expects to start receiving official vote-count reports from constituency electoral commissions today.
