Exit polls show Party of Regions leader ahead |

Six exit polls have shown that Party of Regions leader Viktor Yanukovych is ahead of Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko in today’s Ukrainian presidential election runoff.
The results of exit polls were announced on several Ukrainian TV channels immediately after the polls closed at 20:00 on February 7. They all showed Yanukovych ahead by 3 or more percentage points.
The results of an exit poll conducted by the National Exit Poll Consortium, consisting of Ukraine’s three leading pollsters, the Democratic Initiatives Foundation, the Razumkov Centre and the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, and reported by the state UT1 television channel, are as follows:
Yanukovych - 48.7%;
Tymoshenko - 45.5%;
Against both - 5.5%.
The results of an exit poll conducted by the Centre for Social and Marketing Research (SOCIS) in conjunction with the Inter television channel and reported by Inter are as follows:
Yanukovych - 49.6%;
Tymoshenko - 44.5%;
Against both - 5.9%.
Another exit poll organized by the Inter television together with FOM-Ukrayina and the Ukrainian Sociology Service, also reported by Inter, produced the following the results:
Yanukovych - 49.8%;
Tymoshenko - 44.6%;
Against both - 5.6%.
The results of an exit poll carried out jointly by the ICTV television channel and the international company GfK NOP are:
Yanukovych - 49.8%;
Tymoshenko - 45.2%;
Against both - 5%.
The Ukrayina television channel released the following results of an exit poll conducted by the Ukrainian non-government research company Research & Branding Group:
Yanukovych - 50.26%;
Tymoshenko - 44.02%;
Against both - 5.53%.
An exit poll conducted by the Savik Shuster Studio and reported on the Ukrayina TV channel produced the following results:
Yanukovych - 48.7%;
Tymoshenko - 45.5%;
Against both - 5.7%. |
