The presidential runoff is proceeding without blatant violations of public order. "The second round got under way smoothly, without blatant violations of public order," Volodymyr Mayevskiy, the head of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's public safety department, told a news conference in Kyiv today. He said that as of 12:00 its operational headquarters had received 14 reports about electoral violations. Most of these cases were recorded in Ternopil and Luhansk regions, and Crimea. Mayevskiy specified that five of them related to illegal campaigning, one an attempt to bribe voters, two acts of hooliganism, one a refusal by a member of an electoral commission to work, and three bomb warnings at polling stations. The bomb warning reports came from Luhansk Region and these polling stations have already resumed their work. Mayevskiy also said that two polling stations in Ternopil Region opened late because of fire. These polling stations are now operating normally. |
