The Supreme Council of Crimea has set the date for the next election of Crimean parliamentary deputies for October 31, simultaneously with local elections in Ukraine.
A total of 74 out of 90 Crimean MPs in the100-seat Crimean parliament voted for this at today's extraordinary session.
The Crimean parliament proposed that the republican organizations of parties represented in the Ukrainian Parliament of the current convocation nominate candidates for the Crimean Electoral Commission no later than 49 days before the election.
In July the Ukrainian Parliament set October 31 as the date for local elections. The elections will be held on a mixed system of first-past-the-post and proportionate voting, and without the participation of blocs.
