| Parliament adopts Urban Planning Code in first reading |

The Ukrainian Parliament today adopted a bill (No.6400) on the Urban Planning Code in the first reading. The code sets out the principles of urban planning, determines the regional and local site development rules, the order of location of construction facilities, and submission of primary data for the design of facilities.
The bill presupposes many provisions, including discussion of urban planning documents, approval and ratification of urban planning documents and designs for the construction of facilities, rules on reconstruction of territories on which historical sites are located and organization of comprehensive state documentation and construction designs.
The bill also regulates the licensing of certificates of executive agents on design and construction, stepping up liability for violation of urban planning legislation.
