In November 2011 the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Fighting Organized Crime and Corruption issued printed copies of the new Law of Ukraine “On Trafficking in Persons” which went into effect on October 15, 2011 as well as related revised articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and the Code of Administrative Violations.

The issue of access of executive agencies to public information

To ensure unconditional fulfillment by bodies of the executive branch of the Law of Ukraine "On access to public information”, fulfillment of the constitutional right of individuals to freely collect, store, use and disseminate information, and following the second paragraph of Article 102 of the Constitution of Ukraine, I resolve:

The main theme of the first issue in 2011 of the magazine "PERIODICAL PARLIAMENT” - regulation of the legislative process. The article outlines the main approaches to the regulation of certain important aspects for Ukraine's legislative process in EU member states, and the main problems of domestic lawmaking are described and recommendations provided for overcoming them.

THE AUTHORITIES AND SOCIETY: Dialog through community councils (February 2011, New Publication Issued with the assistance of PDP II)

In January 2011, the VR ARC Secretariat with the PDP II’s assistance has created a special excursion program for different groups of visitors (official delegations, Crimean students and pupils, etc.). Helen Tamashova - one of the ten interns supported by USAID’s Parliamentary Development Project - has been instrumental in developing the tours conducted for 1.5 hours for groups of up to 15 persons.
